Learners should already be familiar with introductory computer concepts and have advanced or proficient-level computer skills. In the case of Excel (and other Office applications) Microsoft created a language inspired by Visual Basic and exposed an application programming interface (or API). This is a third-semester, college-level course. Each lesson includes a combination of Wikipedia and Microsoft readings, YouTube videos, and hands-on learning activities.
Primary focus is on using VBA in Excel, but there are also lessons on VBA in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access. This course comprises 16 lessons on the use of Visual Basic for Applications in Microsoft Office. If you are automating Microsoft Excel 97, the type library appears as Microsoft Excel 8.0 Object Library in the References list Click OK to close the References dialog box. VBA is built into most Microsoft Office applications, including Office for Mac and other applications such as Microsoft MapPoint and Microsoft Visio. If you are automating Microsoft Excel 2000, the type library appears as Microsoft Excel 9.0 Object Library in the References list. Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is an implementation of Microsoft's event-driven programming language, Visual Basic 6, and its associated integrated development environment (IDE).
